Florida Medical Association is Hiring a Business Development Coordinator Near Tallahassee, FL

The Florida Medical Association is a professional association dedicated to the service and assistance of Doctors of Medicine and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine in Florida. We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Coordinator to join our association. The ideal candidate will work closely with the COO and be responsible for assisting in generating non-dues revenue for the association through advertisting, sponsorships and vendor relationships. This position is not a sales position but will be tasked with identifying new business opportunities with vendors and building/maintaining successful relationships with current and new vendors.

Job Functions:

  • Growing and maintaining a sponsor and advertiser database
  • Creating and distributing advertiser marketing communication
  • Working with the FMA Finance Department to ensure accurate billing
  • Creating and distributing invoices
  • Creating quarterly and annual ad sales reports
  • Developing and maintaining performance tracking reports for advertising revenue, advertising prospects and actions
  • Assist with negotiating and closing deals with prospective vendors
  • Utilize database to track sales activities.

This position will also assist with sales, marketing and recruiting vendors which includes:

  • Working collaboratively with the COO on sponsorship sales, exhibitor booth sales and sponsorship sales for the Annual Meeting and other similar conferences/expos.
  • Managing the tradeshow setup at the Annual Conference
  • Managing a database and facilitating the creation and communication with vendors, advertisers and other corporate prospects.

The candidate who fills this position will be attending 1-2 out of town meetings a year.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 4 years extensive work experience in a professional environment in one or more of the following areas – administrative, marketing, event planning.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.

Experience with communication and collaboration platforms, project management software, skilled in database maintenance (iMIS) and Adobe Acrobat is a plus.

Must be extremely detail oriented and have excellent coordination and interpersonal skills, with ability to organize and set priorities for multiple simultaneous activities; and work independently with minimal supervision.

Willingness to learn technical programs and applications to set up and schedule webinars, particularly on the GoTo platform.

Experience with an association is preferred.
